The suspected fraudsters Nzuzo Njilo and Kwanda Ntshangase are now appearing before the Port Shepstone Magistrates Court, for a formal bail application.

Njilo and Ntshangase are facing charges of fraud after they reportedly defrauded an unsuspecting businessman a substantial amount of money.

Following Nzuzo Njilo’s arrest last week after handing himself over to the authorities, after the Port Sheptone Magistrates Court issued his warrant of arrest. Subsequently, his business associate and alleged scammer Kwanda Nshangase also handed himself to the police on the 20 April, 2023.

Both Njilo and Ntshangase are facing charges of fraud after police reports suggested that they disguised as salesmen of a truck to an unsuspecting buyer. After the buyer paid a substantial amount of money, the truck was never deliver and since then Njilo and Ntshangase disappeared into thin air.

“Nzuzo Nkuthalo Njilo and Kwanda Ntshangase are on the police’s wanted list in connection with a case of fraud. The two are alleged to have masqueraded as salesmen who pretended to be selling a truck in May 2021. The unsuspecting buyer went and physically viewed the truck at a dealership in Boksburg and later paid the two a substantial amount of money. The truck was never delivered and since then the duo could not be contacted and their whereabouts remain unknown. Police have uncovered that certain information on the sale agreement was fraudulent and a criminal case was duly opened” read the police statement.

Last week on Thursday (20 April, 2023) both Faith Nketsi-Njilo and husband Nzuzo Njilo were reported to have vacated their Hyde Park residence, after the property has been sold over a month ago.

Reportedly, the Njilo’s rented Hyde Park mansion had been listed on Property24 for sale since last year. Coincidence or not, the Njilo were then reportedly to have vacated the properly amidst the warrant of arrest.

“Troubled businessperson Nzuzo Njilo has allegedly vacated the multimillion-rand mansion in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, which he shared with media personality Faith Nketsi, after it was sold over a month ago. This comes after the police in Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal, issued a warrant of arrest for him and his business associate Kwanda Ntshangase on Wednesday for allegedly defrauding a businessperson” reported the City Press

Amidst Njilo’s arrest together with his business partner, more alleged scammed victims have since broke their silence on how Njilo alleged scammed them in the past.

Speaking to Zimoja Lezinto, Mala Gwarube and Melfred Dube shared how they were lured by Njilo’s business partner into partnering with him in the trucking business. Gwarube (26) from East London in the Eastern Cape says she was scammed of her brand-new Renault horse and trailer truck in 2020.

“I bought the truck with the aim of trying to make a living for myself as a young black woman. I signed a contract with Luntu of Maxbu Projects. The agreement was that I lease my truck to him, and his company and he will pay me R90 000 at the beginning of every month for 15 days on a R6000 rate per day.  Maxegwana has not paid me a single cent from June 2020 until now, it’s almost been three years now.“ Another member added to the family
