Minister of Correctional Services, Ronald Lamola is in hot water again. Calls for him to resign are mounting as he is accused of covering up the Thabo Bester prison escape. Even ANC leaders want him gone. They say him and Police Minister should leave their positions with immediate effect.

The latest to spit fire is Chairman Nathi Sithole. “As RET forces we call for the resignation of Bheki Cele and Ronald Lamola in an immediate effect, they knew about the escape of Thabo Bester but didn’t act and didn’t inform the public that a dangerous criminal was roaming the streets, they must go!”, Sithole said furiously.

This comes after Ronald Lamola has agreed with MPs that his department failed Thabo Bester’s victims and said that he took full responsibility. Also, his staff apparently failed to see an email sent to the Minister in October last year. The email was alerting Lamola about Bester’s escape deom prison. Lamola says he only got to see the email on Thursday, 13 April 2023.

This Thabo Bester saga truly revealed that Ronald Lamola and Bheki Cele are one and the same, their incompetence has brought their country to it’s knees. In a meritocratic society Ronald Lamola would not be a minister. This whole saga has exposed the utter incompetence of those we’ve entrusted with power.
