Faith Mangope is saying goodbye to Power 98.7 after many years, and Pabi Moloi is taking her place as the station’s lunchtime host.
Pabi has been a part of the station since 2013 and is currently the host of Power Weekend Breakfast. She will now also host Power Lunch, which airs from noon to 3 pm on weekdays.
“I’m excited. The transition from one space to another over the years at Power 98.7 has been inspiring for me. I always wanted to move from music radio to talk radio and Power 98.7 gave me that opportunity.
“Anchoring the weekend breakfast show has been unbelievably eye-opening and challenging. I really had to dig from the inside out, not just because of the early call time, but expanding who I am as a broadcaster, and so I think it’s the perfect and natural next step,” she said during an interview on Power Breakfast with Thabiso Tema.
Pabi Moloi replaces Faith Mangope on Power 98.7
Power FM has announced some major changes to its programming lineup. Tshego Moagi, previously the host of Power Life on Sunday evenings, will now be hosting Power Weekend Breakfast.
Noluthando Mthontsi–Mlambo will be taking over Power Business, and Lusanda “Lusky” Nkohla will be the new host for Power Weekend in the evening slot. These changes will be taking effect immediately.
Speaking about the changes which take effect on April 1, Power 98.7 MD James Shikwambana said: “The station built an internal pool of talent that always rises to the occasion.”
James said Pabi would bring new flair to lunchtime listeners.
“She has long been gearing to interact with our listeners on a regular basis and we are confident she will bring her unique brand of engagement to Power Lunch.”
