Watch: Chaos In KZN As IFP Councillors Were Dancing On Tables To Block Meeting

The council meeting scheduled to table the removal of Nongoma municipality mayor, and speaker is yet to sit. This is despite SAPS successfully removing disrupters alleged to be IFP members who occupied council chambers to illegally prevent the sitting from taking place.

In the video, some men were seen shirtless, while singing and dancing on top of tables. It is alleged that some members of Inkatha Freedom Party slept at the municipal offices to prevent the ANC and EFF councillors from accessing it.

A meeting is expected to be conducted so that a motion to remove the mayor and speaker could be tabled. With all that is happening, it seems that this meeting might not be able to proceed.

This behaviour shown by IFP members has been slammed by many who feel the party in Kwa-Zulu Natal is back to its old ways of violence.

“Inkatha Freedom Party is back to its traditional ways of violence! They want to cling to power by force. This is shameful.”

The IFP blocked the National Freedom Party, Economic Freedom Fighters, and the ANC from holding a council meeting to table a motion for the removal of mayor Albert and speaker through a vote of no confidence.

This comes after a letter from Kwa-Zulu Natal cooperative governance and traditional affairs approved what they say is an illegal sitting.

WATCH: Apparently, this is some of the chaos that played out inside the chambers of the Nongoma local municipality early today. The special council sitting will now be convened for the second time tomorrow (Tuesday) after this one was marred by chaos and threats. @IOL pic.twitter.com/yYMk1uDxus

After this violence displayed by members of Inkatha Freedom Party, critics said they are disappointed by this political organisation. They said recently they were denying the violence allegations brought against them, but they are doing the same thing in broad daylight.

“If this is true IFP, I’m very disappointed in your party. Recently, you guys were saying Bheki Cele lied about your violence and threats behaviour, but today you are doing what..? You should be ashamed of yourself,” some said.
