Yesterday, a delegation of officials from the African National Congress, visited the home of the slain AKA to pass their condolences to the family. Since the tragic passing of our popular musician on Friday night, his home has been a host to many prominent figures.

Transport minister and Secretary General of the ANC Fikile Mbalula, together with Gauteng Premier, Panyaza Lesufi, addressed the media after seeing the family. Mbalula indicated that, we lost the young star at an early age.

“His life was taken away so early when so much was still expected from him. May his killers be found and be brought to book.” Mbalula said, as he appreciated AKA’s contribution to the music industry.

Panyaza Lesufi also acknowledged that we have lost a hero in the country. He indicated that they are committed to provide the family with all necessary assistance as the Gauteng Provincial government so that AKA can have a respectful farewell.

“We believe he is an international icon, and he is really supported across the globe. It is an opportunity for us as South Africans to ensure that we stand with the family.” The premier said.

South Africans continue to mourn the shocking death of AKA and his friend. Yesterday, scores of their fans, industry colleagues and residents crossed the rain and gathered at Florida road to remember them.

The group more like many other South Africans prayed for justice to prevail. Despite a fancy funeral that the government might offer, as a nation, we are hoping that authorities will find and arrested the killers.
