Economic Freedom Fighters leader, Julius Malema has blasted Action South Africa provincial leader, Athol Trollip after he heavily criticised the much anticipated EFF shutdown on the 20th of March 2023.

Malema warns that they will bring South Africa to a standstill on the said day they will be having a shutdown. He said they will be blocking roads, and make it difficult for people to even go to work.

It is these utterances which prompted the Action South Africa provincial leader to react. He said Malema’s planned march is driven by ego and his mad personality. He adds that they are against this shutdown, as they want to resuscitate South Africa and get everything back to normal.

“Malema’s mad personal, vanity and ego project calling for a national shut down of our country on the 20th March has come too late! The ANC has already done that, and now it behoves of us Action SA to resuscitate South Africa, and get it working to break this destructive death spiral,” he said.

This obviously got Julius Malema to react. The Economic Freedom Fighters leader said the Action South Africa provincial leader will not heal, and that he will die as a “bitter old man”.

Some critics said Julius Malema’s call for a shutdown on the 20th on March, is a diversion. They speculate that the red beret leader is privately aligning himself for a coalition with the ANC which he wants his party to march against.

Talks for ANC and EFF coalitions are already said be ongoing and are open. ANC premier for Gauteng province, Panyaza Lesufi said they want to be in coalition with EFF in Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni metros respectively.

Another metro which is being eyed by the ANC is Tshwane. With the help of EFF, they want to push out the Democratic Alliance mayor through a motion of no confidence.
