Mluleki Ndobe, the former ANCKZN deputy provincial secretary general accused of plotting the assissanation of Sindiso Magaqa has passed away after committing suicide.
According to SABCNewsOnline senior political reporter Samkele Maseko, Ndobe has been going in and out of hospital after battling cancer has reportedly shot himself last night.
The former mayor of the Harry Gwala district was voted third in provincial list of the ANC in 2019, and was voted deputy speaker in the KZN provincial legislature.
He was arrested in 2019 in connection with the 2017 cruel murder of former ANC Youth League (ANCYL) secretary-general Magaqa, after it was alleged that Magaqa was exposing corruption in the Umzimkhulu area.
However, the National Prosecuting Authority in the KZN dropped Ndobe’s charges along with those who were allegedly involved in the murder citing insufficient evidence.
It is still unclear as to the main reason behind Ndobe committing suicide, as no official statement has been released either by the party or the family just yet.
May His Soul Rest In Peace.
