Seven people have been killed in a single-car crash near Umgeni Road on Tuesday morning.
While the cause of the smash is yet to be confirmed – reports from the scene indicate the driver of the Toyota Etios apparently lost control of the vehicle – which then overturned on the flyover from the M19 joining the N2 north.
Rescue Care spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson says seven people – who were travelling in the vehicle – have been declared dead on the scene.
“One was in a critical condition and was transported to a nearby hospital for the urgent care that they required. The scene is still active as SAPS and Metro are in attendance. They will be investigating exactly what lead up to the cause of the collision,” says Jamieson.
