The Glamour Boys and Buccaneers have come together to donate numerous items of personal protective equipment to the National Health Laboratory Service in an attempt to aid their progress against COVID-19, donations that were warmly received by the government institution.
Health Minister, Dr Zweli Mkhize, confirmed the donation on his personal Twitter account as he revealed what had been sent through by the two clubs, showing the NHLS inspecting all of the new equipment.
He said on social media, “NHLS CEO Dr Chetty inspecting the COVID-19 Personal Protective Equipment donated by South Africa’s largest football teams, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates… The consignment includes, gloves, masks, goggles, shoe protectors amongst others.”
Mkhize will be present at a press conference around 17h00 today alongside Irvin Khoza and Kaizer Motaung will be joined by Multichoice’s Imtiaz Patel and the Sport, Arts and Culture Minister, Nathi Mthethwa, where they have spoken about a ‘special announcement’.
