Telkom Mobile is giving away free data to customers after its services were disrupted for most of Friday.
Telkom Mobile is giving away 500MB free data to apologise for outages across the country.
All Telkom customers received 500MB data bundles on Friday afternoon, Telkom’s official twitter (TelkomZA) handle.
The operator responded to complaints on Friday afternoon and apologised for the “inconvenience caused”.
Telkom explained: “Dear customers, we are currently experiencing disruptions on our mobile voice and data network, which may affect your connectivity. Our team of technicians are working on resolving this. We thank you for your patience and apologise for the inconvenience caused.”

Telkom said hardware failure was to blame for the outages which affected the company’s cellular services.
