Kaizer Chiefs may well have a big transfer window ahead of them after a horror 2018/19 season, and some big-name foreign stars have been linked with a move to Naturena.
The club is eager to try and get back to winning silverware in 2019/20 as they celebrate their 50th anniversary, and there are indications that the club is looking to bolster their side in terms of the foreign players that they have available for selection going into the new season.
Following the exits of Godfrey Walusimbi and Gustavo Paez over the last couple of months, Chiefs do have a couple of foreign spots available, with Daniel Akpeyi, Teenage Hadebe and Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana currently taking up three of those places.
With that in mind, of course the club will not be signing all of the foreign players that they have been linked with, but it certainly seems as though they are expanding their horizons as they plot potential moves going into the next campaign.
The likes of Gabadinho Mhango and Mwape Musonda – both of whom may now be eligible for permanent residence in South Africa – have been linked heavily with the Amakhosi of late, while a bit further afield we have seen players such as Lazarous Kambole, Jesse Were and Idriss Mbombo also being touted as possible additions.
Clatous Chama and Emmanuel Okwi – both of Simba SC – may also be options for Chiefs if they can try and get a deal over the line, while the latest addition to their possible shoppings list is CAF Confederation Cup finalist, Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba.
