The Moses Mabhida Stadium will again host the final of the Nedbank Cup on May 18, the Premier Soccer League chairman Irvin Khoza announced on Tuesday.
The PSL boss said the announcement was made early to avoid questions over where the final would be held, with the teams still to be decided because the competition is at the semi-finals stage.
“We wanted Bloemfontein as the venue initially, but it was not available, so we had to look for an alternative. So a decision has been taken by the cup committee to go to the Moses Mabhida Stadium,” Khoza told journalists.

That venue appears to be the default for the PSL and there has been an uproar in the football fraternity over why other stadiums aren’t given the chance to host the final. But the league previously chose Cape Town last year for the final between Free State Stars and Maritzburg United. The Durban-based venue has hosted three of the last 11 finals under the Nedbank sponsorship.
