The Democratic Alliance (DA) has opened a criminal case against Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, accusing him of perjury and misleading Parliament over his ties to businessman Brown Mogotsi. Mchunu denies the allegations.
The complaint comes after testimony before the Madlanga Commission, which is investigating political interference and corruption within South African policing authorities. Mchunu was placed on leave in July 2025 pending the commission’s findings.
