The African National Congress (ANC) is facing a new financial crisis after having its bank accounts frozen. This action is due to an unpaid debt of 85 million rand related to a legal dispute.
The debt is owed to Ezulweni Investments, a company that provided printing services for the party’s election campaign materials. The freezing of the accounts has intensified concerns about the ANC’s ability to manage its finances.
This situation has prompted questions about the party’s credibility in managing the country’s finances. Independent political analyst Asanda Ngoasheng asked, “How can we trust a party that cannot manage its own finances to manage the entire national budget, which runs into trillions of rands?”
The party has not yet issued a public statement on the matter.
