Brown Mogotsi Opens Up On Fikile Mbalula’s Alleged Political Moves Against Senzo Mchunu

North West businessman Brown Mogotsi has alleged that ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula is using his name in a calculated campaign to target suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu. Speaking in an interview with SABC News, Mogotsi said the alleged actions go beyond ordinary political disputes, revealing what he describes as a deliberate attempt to undermine Mchunu.

Mogotsi highlighted recent events, saying that Fikile Mbalula traveled with Vusi Khekhe, who was later convicted of murder in Botswana. “Since he traveled with a convicted killer, does that mean Mbalula should not be called an ANC member?” Mogotsi asked, questioning what he described as selective standards in the party.

He also addressed claims that he, Mogotsi, is not an ANC member. “If Mbalula’s own connections raise questions — his wife was convicted in a housing scandal — then why am I being attacked for my alleged membership?” Mogotsi asked, pointing to what he considers a double standard in how political accountability is applied.

Mogotsi reiterated that all of these attacks are politically motivated, emphasizing that Mbalula is using his name to target Senzo Mchunu, whom he described as the main focus of the campaign. “Mbalula is only doing all these things using my name to attack Mchunu,” he said.

Political analysts observing the matter say Mogotsi’s allegations highlight growing factional tensions within the ANC, with accusations increasingly being played out in public. Some warn that the use of private citizens’ names in political disputes risks confusing the public and escalating internal party conflicts.

Neither Fikile Mbalula nor Senzo Mchunu has publicly responded to Mogotsi’s claims. Observers are now closely watching how the ANC leadership will handle the allegations and whether this dispute could further inflame tensions within the party.
