ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba has alleged that former Democratic Alliance (DA) parliamentary leader Lindiwe Mazibuko proposed to become his party’s mayoral candidate for the City of Johannesburg.
Mashaba made the claim public, stating that Mazibuko initiated the discussions. The proposal would have seen Mazibuko, a key figure from a rival party, leading ActionSA’s electoral efforts in the country’s economic hub.
This allegation could have significant implications for the political landscape, particularly as parties position themselves for upcoming local government elections. Mazibuko has not yet issued a public response to the claim.
