Face the Music Alone: ANCYL Refuses to Shield Leaders Tainted by Madlanga Probe

All leaders implicated in the Madlanga investigation are allegedly demanded an answer by ANCYL. South African city of Johannesburg – Collen Malatji, head of the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL), has demanded that ANC leaders implicated in the findings of the Madlanga Commission either step down or pledge to testify in their innocence, stating that they should “face the music alone.”

The senior ANC leaders implicated in the probe are facing increasing pressure to face penalties outside of the party, which is why Malatji has spoken out. He was right when he said that the youth wing doesn’t care about covert alliances or group protection. He said that the accused should face the accusations head-on rather than try to avoid responsibility by claiming party allegiance.

They should either admit wrongdoing or offer evidence to the contrary if they are serious about being completely transparent. A rising number of ANC members have been demanding accountability and openness from party leadership, and the Youth League’s demand is consistent with that trend. Several ANC officials have been named by the Madlanga Commission, which is investigating numerous claims of corruption and constitutional violations.

While the specifics and identities have not yet led to concrete actions against everyone involved, ANCYL is certain that the people under suspicion must stay in the shadows. The ANCYL must now await a public declaration from the responsible parties.

If the Youth League is unable to win back the public’s trust in the party, they say, they should step down from all their official posts. Leave a comment with your thoughts on these guys, and hit the like button if you’d want to see more updates like this one.
