Fans of Biri Marung actor Tebogo G. Mashego were left shocked on Friday evening after the star went live on Facebook, breaking down in tears as he revealed he is stranded in Nigeria.
Mashego said he had travelled with a group of people but claimed they have since “turned against him,” leaving him in a desperate situation. According to his live stream, he will not be able to return to South Africa until 30 September 2025, unless he can secure his own flight.
The actor appealed for donations from supporters to help him buy a return ticket, saying he had been left with no other option.
“I’m stuck here. The people I came with have turned against me. Please, if anyone can help me get back home, I’ll appreciate it,” he said during the emotional broadcast.
Social media has since been flooded with messages of concern from his fans, many expressing heartbreak at seeing the star in distress.
