The South African Police Service (SAPS) has appointed Captain Phionah Sandra Mbuli as the new Commander for Finance and Administration Services at the Umkomaas police station. In this role, she will serve under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Sanelisiwe Friedah Nkomo, the Support Commander.
Captain Mbuli brings 28 years of extensive policing experience to her new position. A highly decorated officer, she has completed numerous SAPS courses and has been awarded five SAPS medals for her service. Her previous postings include stations in Kagiso, Westonaria, Ladysmith, Umlazi, Bhekithemba, and Amanzimtoti.
Her academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Policing, a Bachelor of Commerce, and an Honours degree in Public Administration.
Outside of her professional duties, Captain Mbuli is actively involved in her church, where she serves as a chorister and participates in children’s ministry. She describes herself as a prayer warrior who believes in serving others and moral regeneration.
Police spokesperson Captain Ranjith Rampersad stated that Captain Mbuli is widely respected within the service for her charisma, strong character, and moral compass.
