ATM Accuses President Ramaphosa of Hiding Critical National Secrets

A political storm is brewing after the African Transformation Movement (ATM) accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of concealing important national information. The claims were made by ATM leader Vuyo Zungula during a press briefing on Tuesday, where he suggested the president may be involved in confidential agreements that bypass proper oversight.

Zungula said the party had received what it called “compelling information” pointing to secret dealings involving Ramaphosa. While he stopped short of revealing full details, he hinted at possible undisclosed financial transactions and involvement of foreign interests.

“We believe the president is hiding matters of public interest. This is not only a concern about transparency—it could also be a breach of the Constitution,” Zungula said.

The Presidency dismissed the allegations, calling them “baseless political theatrics.” A spokesperson for the president said Ramaphosa continues to operate within the law and has “nothing to hide.”

Despite the denial, the ATM says it plans to take further steps, including legal action and a push for parliamentary involvement.

Political commentators note that while no evidence has been made public yet, the claims could deepen existing political tensions. Ramaphosa is already under pressure following the Phala Phala controversy and divisions within the ruling ANC.

With the ATM promising to reveal more in the coming days, South Africans are left waiting—and wondering—if the allegations will lead to a serious political fallout or fade as another unproven claim.
