Former MK Party Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu will hold a press conference on Thursday, 19 June 2025, to discuss critical political developments in South Africa. The event is expected to address pressing national issues, with Shivambu emphasizing transparency and accountability as core principles.

In a statement ahead of the briefing, Shivambu invoked the words of revolutionary Amilcar Cabral: “Hide nothing from the masses of our people. Tell no lies. Expose lies whenever they are told. Mask no difficulties, mistakes, failures. Claim no easy victories.” This suggests the conference will tackle contentious topics with directness, potentially touching on governance, party dynamics, or socio-economic challenges.

Political analysts anticipate the address could shed light on recent shifts within the MK Party or broader opposition strategies. Shivambu, known for his outspoken stance, may also respond to current government policies or coalition negotiations.

The press conference will be closely watched as a barometer of opposition sentiment ahead of key political engagements. Media and the public are invited to attend what promises to be a forthright and significant political intervention.
