The High Court in Pretoria saw further cross-examination of the lead investigator in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial on Monday, with defense counsel scrutinizing DNA evidence tied to accused Mthobisi Mncube.
Advocate Charles Mnisi, representing co-accused Muzi Sibiya, pressed the investigator on forensic details allegedly linking Mncube to the 2014 crime scene. Mnisi assumed Sibiya’s defense in January after the passing of his previous attorney, Thulani Mngomezulu.
The State maintains that Mncube was the shooter who killed the Bafana Bafana captain, while Sibiya—previously represented by Mngomezulu—reportedly confessed to involvement in the murder.
The trial continues as the defense challenges the prosecution’s forensic and testimonial evidence.
