Julius Malema Defends Himself Amid Reports of UK Travel Ban, Accuses Global Figures of Targeting Him

EFF leader Julius Malema has responded defiantly to reports of his alleged ban from entering the United Kingdom, stating that he feels no shame and believes he is being targeted for challenging powerful interests.

Speaking at a weekend rally, Malema suggested that high-profile international figures, including billionaire Elon Musk and former U.S. President Donald Trump, may be behind efforts to discredit him as a threat to global stability.

“I do not feel ashamed that I was banned by London,” Malema told supporters. “Those who control the global narrative—people like Elon Musk and Donald Trump—want to criminalize me for speaking truth to power. They are trying to paint me as an international criminal because I refuse to bow to white imperialism.”

His remarks follow growing speculation that he has been placed on a UK travel blacklist due to his controversial political statements, which critics argue incite unrest. However, UK authorities have not officially confirmed any such ban.

Malema reaffirmed his commitment to fighting for black liberation and economic justice, regardless of international backlash.

“They will never silence me,” he declared. “Even if they ban me from their countries, they cannot ban my ideas. We are fighting for justice, for land, and for our people. That is not a crime.”

His comments have sparked mixed reactions, with opponents accusing him of using inflammatory rhetoric while supporters argue he is being vilified for challenging Western dominance.

Malema concluded his speech by stating, “Let the oppressors be uncomfortable. We are not their puppets, and we will never seek their approval.”
