The Zulu royal court has been thrown into disarray following King Misuzulu KaZwelithini’s decision to dismiss Prince Simphiwe Zulu of KwaMinyamanzi from all royal duties with immediate effect.
Prince Simphiwe, previously regarded as one of the King’s most devoted supporters since his ascension in May 2021, has been accused of failing to fulfill his responsibilities as the royal spokesperson. The King alleges that Prince Simphiwe ignored media inquiries, leading to the publication of one-sided articles that tarnished the image of the Zulu nation and the royal throne.
Additionally, the King claims the Prince withheld vital information from the Ingonyama Trust Board and other entities where he represented the monarch.
Despite the allegations, Prince Simphiwe, once considered a rising star within the royal court, has stated that he has not yet received any formal communication regarding his dismissal.
