The MK Party’s National Organizer Floyd Shivambu and Deputy President Dr. Mandlakayise Hlophe recently spearheaded the #BuyelaEbantwini (“Return to the People”) campaign, rallying the party’s Gauteng structures to deepen grassroots engagement. The initiative was launched during a well-attended gathering, signaling a renewed commitment by the party to prioritize its founding principles and reconnect with communities ahead of upcoming elections.

Shivambu, a prominent leader within the MK Party, emphasized the campaign’s importance in strengthening the party’s support base at the local level. Addressing the audience, he called on Gauteng structures to lead by example and actively mobilize their communities.

“Our revolution is people-centered, and the BuyelaEbantwini initiative is the essence of our movement,” Shivambu stated. He urged the party to focus on addressing the needs of the working class and marginalized groups, ensuring their voices are at the forefront of the political agenda.

Dr. Hlophe reinforced these sentiments, highlighting the campaign’s critical role in enhancing the MK Party’s electoral prospects. “Our task is to reintroduce ourselves to the people who placed their trust in us. We must engage with them directly and take their struggles seriously,” he said.

The leadership expressed confidence that the #BuyelaEbantwini campaign would not only fortify the MK Party’s presence in Gauteng but also lay the groundwork for national success. They encouraged local leaders to implement programs tackling pressing community issues, including service delivery, unemployment, and land reform.

As the campaign gains momentum, it promises to reinvigorate the MK Party’s political agenda, particularly in Gauteng, a crucial province in South Africa’s political landscape. Shivambu and Hlophe called on members to stay committed to the cause, ensuring that the party remains true to its mission of being a people-centered movement.

With its focus on grassroots engagement and addressing community concerns, the #BuyelaEbantwini campaign is poised to strengthen the MK Party’s connection with voters and solidify its position as a key player in South African politics.
