Durban – Two wanted suspects have been shot dead after a confrontation with KZN police in Ntuzuma.
The men were being sought in connection with a string of murders and armed robberies.
One of the cases is the attempted murder of a police officer earlier this year, where he was shot in the face.
The operation to execute the warrants of arrest – led by the DPCI Provincial Tracking Team and DPCI Anti-Gang Unit – included the Provincial TRT, PMB K9, Provincial Forensics Leads Unit, Inanda SAPS Trio Crimes Task Team, Metro Police Special Operations Directorate, SAPS CI eThekwini District, Fidelity SIU, Hawks Protection Services and Magma Security & Investigations.
Two guns have been recovered.
Other members of the gang are being sought.
