“Mashaba Jumped Into Bed With ANC Without Knowing Who Will Be Mayor Of Tshwane” Says Justice Malala

Prominent political commentator Justice Malala has weighed in on the ongoing political dynamics in Tshwane, claiming that ActionSA leader Herman Mashaba has aligned himself with the African National Congress (ANC) without fully understanding the potential ramifications. According to Malala, Mashaba entered into an agreement without clarity on who would ultimately lead the capital city as mayor.

The situation in Tshwane has been tense, with political parties scrambling to form coalitions following the city’s instability and the collapse of its previous administration. The ANC has been a central figure in these coalition talks, looking to regain control of the municipality.

However, Malala criticises Mashaba for his approach, accusing him of compromising his principles by working with the very party he once opposed. He argues that Mashaba, known for his strong stance against ANC corruption, should have exercised more caution before entering into discussions with the party.

“Mashaba has always positioned himself as a clean governance advocate. By jumping into bed with the ANC, particularly without knowing who would emerge as mayor, he risks losing credibility,” Malala said during a political analysis segment.

Tshwane’s political landscape has been marred by continuous leadership disputes, leading to service delivery challenges and an unstable local government. This uncertainty, combined with Mashaba’s potential miscalculation, has further exacerbated the city’s political troubles.

Malala’s comments reflect broader concerns from ActionSA supporters and political analysts, who fear that aligning with the ANC could damage Mashaba’s political future and dilute ActionSA’s brand.

As coalition discussions continue, the future leadership of Tshwane remains uncertain. Political observers are now waiting to see how the situation unfolds and whether Mashaba’s decision will backfire or prove beneficial in the long run.

Mashaba has yet to comment publicly on the matter, leaving many wondering whether this alliance will impact his long-standing stance on clean governance and accountability.
