Watch: Jacob Zuma & MK Party Declare War Urge Election Result Delay

Former South African President Jacob Zuma, leader of the MK Party, has called for a postponement of the announcement of the election results scheduled for tomorrow.

The MK Party, along with 26 other political parties, claims there are serious irregularities in the voting process and is demanding a recount and an inquiry into the alleged irregularities. Zuma has warned against any declaration of results tomorrow, stating it would provoke unrest.

Zuma suggests that the IEC must not declare the elections tomorrow. He says “people must not be provoked”. “There is going to be trouble”.

His party secured third place nationally with over two million votes in its first general election. Zuma’s arrival caused a media frenzy, with journalists jostling to capture images of him.

He interacted with leaders of the Patriotic Alliance and was expected to address the media. The MK Party has called for a recount, citing questionable electoral numbers.
