Senzo Meyiwa’s brother, Sifiso Meyiwa, has vehemently rejected accusations against singer Kelly Khumalo, claiming she hired hitmen to murder the former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.
The allegations surfaced during the trial, with Investigating Officer Brigadier Bongani Gininda stating that two of the accused implicated Khumalo in the murder.
However, in an exclusive interview with eNCA, Sifiso dismissed these claims, accusing Gininda of fabricating evidence to protect his own interests.
During the interview, Sifiso expressed skepticism about the alleged confessions, pointing to his own experience working in a police station for over 20 years.
He argued that the murder scene did not resemble the work of a professional hitman and accused Gininda of manipulating the case. Despite evidence presented in court linking Khumalo to some of the accused, Sifiso maintained his belief in her innocence.
Furthermore, Sifiso accused the State of collaborating with Gininda and criticized the investigator’s integrity. Allegations of bribery emerged in court, with one accused claiming Gininda offered him R3 million for a confession.
While Gininda denied such offers, Sifiso insisted that such bribery attempts were not uncommon in the case.
In closing, Sifiso expressed a desire for the truth to emerge, vowing to seek justice for his brother. The trial continues with ongoing tensions surrounding the credibility of evidence and the involvement of Kelly Khumalo.
