Thembinkosi Lorch is a South African born and bred soccer player who has won the title of being one of the best footballers in the country. He has done exceptionally well since his first debut in the Sports industry and he is well remunerated for his incredible performance. He is one of the players that have always been desired by various football coaches to have as part of their teams. The 31-year-old as of 2024 has played as a faithful player for Orlando Pirates for close to a decade, from 2019 until this year.
On the 27th of January, Thembinkosi Lorch released a public statement, announcing his departure from Orlando Pirates as he joins Mamelodi Sundowns. The Orlando Mamelodi fans and followers were not pleased by this and they shared how heartbreaking these news are, some even shared that they are also moving with Thembinkosi Lorch to Mamelodi Sundowns. This means that Mamelodi Sundowns did not only gain Thembinkosi Lorch as a good player but also new fans who are faithful to Thembinkosi Lorch’s work.
The chairman of Mamelodi Sundowns, the coach, management team, technical team and the club as a whole welcomed him well. They shared his arrival across all their social media platforms and their fans were also excited to have him as part of the team as well.
A recent video on Instagram posted on the Mamelodi Sundowns page has left a lot of people talking. The Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Rhulani Mokwena, was shouting Thembinkosi Lorch for not doing what he expected him to do. He proceeded to say “This is not the Nyoso that I know and this is the Nyoso I wanted. Nyoso is Thembinkosi Lorch’s nickname in football. Below are snippets from the video.

The fans had a lot to say and they each shared their opinions and views on the comments section. Whilst some fans seem not to be happy with how he shouts at him, others are excited that the coach is sharpening his football talent which will yield in good results. Below are some of the comments.
I personally believe that no matter how harsh Coach Rhulani is towards Thembinkosi Lorch, it is definitely for his best. He will excel at his performance as a footballer and South Africa will be proud of him.
