Mthandeni Igcokama Elisha Manqele makes history with his most loved song ‘Paris’ which features singer Lwa Ndlunkulu. Mthandeni took to Facebook to celebrate his achievement.

From the early days of the song being released it entered the history books in the Maskandi scene by achieving over 200 000 thousand views on YouTube within a short period of two days. This was a first in the Maskandi genre where a Maskandi artist would achieve such. This was only the beginning of the success of the song by Mthandeni. The song’s views soared up high and made further history in the Maskandi scene by achieving 1 Million view on YouTube within 12 days, it now began to be clear that the song is loved by everyone.

Initially Mthandeni says that he wanted to feature popular Limpopo artist Makhadzi on the song but had a change of mind and decided to call Big Zulu whom Lwa Ndlunkulu is signed under at Big Zulu’s Nkabi Records, he then proceeded to ask if Lwa Ndlunkulu could be on his song and Big Zulu willingly agreed.

The song also created ‘positive competition’ among Maskandi artists, with artists releasing songs in hopes that they will also get to dip their hands in the cookie jar by achieving tons of views and streams on music streaming platforms within a short amount of time. The last time a Maskandi song had noticeable impact was with the song ‘Ngafa’ by the legendary duo Shwi NoMtekhala. The song Ngafa paved the way for many and made Maskandi a genre to be reckoned with. It now seems like history is repeating itself.

The song is currently sitting on over 7 million views and continues to grow.

The song is also currently sitting on the number one spot on Ukhozi FM’s Top 20.

Now, it cannot be denied that this song has made history and Mthandeni Igcokama Elisha Manqele initiated that history.
