In a surprising turn of events, the union of renowned South African gospel sensation Dumi Mkokstad is reportedly on shaky ground. This revelation stems from the unsettling discovery that several women, identified as Mkokstad’s alleged extramarital partners, have been observed entering and leaving his residence located in Mt Ayliff, Eastern Cape.
In an interview with Sunday World, Falithenjwa Nzimande, the musician’s father, disclosed that these encounters have been occurring since 2020, casting a shadow over the couple’s once serene marital life. Nzimande expressed his dismay, recounting a series of perplexing encounters. According to him, the first woman to make her presence known at Mkokstad’s abode claimed to hail from Sandton in Johannesburg and arrived with a suitcase filled with her personal belongings.
She purportedly asserted that a bishop had foretold that she was destined to be Mkokstad’s chosen spouse, insisting that she was the rightful partner for the musician. Strikingly, she boldly stated that Mkokstad had erred in his choice of life partner. The family promptly reached out to Mkokstad, who professed to be entirely unaware of the woman’s existence. To ensure her safety, they escorted her to the police station. Subsequently, she was returned to Johannesburg, and no further communication has been established with her since.
Nzimande expressed his profound concern for his son, evidently distressed by the recurrent incidents. He recounted yet another incident that transpired the previous year, where a different woman materialized and declared herself to be Dumi’s wife.
In 2019, Mkokstad and his spouse, Ziphozenkosi, exchanged vows in a splendid white wedding ceremony, and in a bid to shield their relationship from prying eyes, they opted to keep their union private. Their decision to maintain a low public profile was driven by a desire to evade undue scrutiny.
The couple joyfully announced in December 2021 that they were expecting their first child together, marking a significant milestone in their journey. Then, in September, they delightedly shared the news of their second bundle of joy, further solidifying their bond.
