Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates, will be meeting Jwaneng Galaxy for the first time in the CAF Champions League. These two teams have previously met in the CAF Confederation Cup in 2021.
The Buccaneers go into this clash on the back of four consecutive wins across all competitions, and six wins in an unbeaten run of seven games.
Pirates are eager to reassert their name in this competition which they once conquered in 1995 as one of the heavyweight teams in Africa.
Jose Riveiro’s side will come up against Jwaneng Galaxy in Sunday’s CAF Champions League play-off first leg match at Gaborone National Stadium as hot favourites.
For Jwaneng Galaxy, they’ll be looking to make history by qualifying for the group stage of the CAF Champions League for the first time ever, while the Buccaneers are looking to reach the final of this competition again.
