Brenda Mhlongo is a multi-talented South African actress, dancer, and singer. The performer has recently gained popularity following her departure from the SABC1 soap opera Generations: The Legacy. The mother of three joined the cast of this drama series two years ago, playing Nandi, Jack Mabaso’s wife. Brenda attributes her success in acting to her outgoing attitude. Many people adore her interpretation of the program.
Brenda Mhlongo Generation is a South African actor who grew up in KwaMashu, KwaZulu-Natal. She has never brought her childhood and parents into the spotlight. She began acting in her adolescence (16 years, to be exact). Many Imbewu fans were disappointed when performers Tony Kgoroge and Fundiswa Zwane departed the show, but they were pleased to see Muzi Mthabela and Brenda Mhlongo replace them.
Brenda plays Priscilla “KaMadonsela” Bhengu, while Muzi takes on the part of Zimele Bhengu. Brenda denied that she was sacked by the show’s producers. Her contract was not renewed, she told Drum magazine, because her job had ended. Following her departure from the show, the actress returned to work on her nonprofit, the Brenda Mhlongo Worldwide nonprofit. When she started acting in Generations, she put it on hold.
She has appeared in various television episodes and series, including eKasi: Our Stories as Mam Ngwenya, Ihawu as Ntswaki Mhlongo, the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards as a guest presenter, Top Billing as a guest, The Queen as Zodwa, and Uzalo as Buhle. She is now appearing in Imbewu.
Because of her stage performances, the actress traveled to Hong Kong, Germany, and North America. She has garnered two international prizes for her work as Rafiki in The Lion King, including the Broadway Spain award for best new artist and the best artist. She traveled North America for over five years as Rafiki.
