Dr Nandipha Magudumana hit the global news headlines after she went on the run with escaped convict Thabo Bester.
Beater pulled a Houdini by literally walking out of prison. He allegedly faked his own death for the dating escape which caught the world by shock.
Magudumana, on the other hand, risked her prolific medical career to be with Bester. The two are reportedly lovers and would visit each other while Bester was in prison.
Bester had been sent to prison after he was found guilty of murder and rape. But his love story continued to blossom while he was still in prison.
Magudumana has now broken her silence about the arrest which led to much media attention.
“The merits concerning the allegation against me and the events which transpired in Tanzania are currently before the courts and will also be addressed at a more appropriate time,” said Magudumana.
She stated that she suffered abuse in the hands of high ranking government officials and that is something which she ponders.
Magudumana is a qualified medical professional and she is viewed as a celebrity doctor because her clientele base boasted of high profile celebrities.
In a letter shared by SABC journalist Chriselda Lewis on Thursday evening, Magudumana decided to close off women’s month with a letter, sent through her lawyers, highlighting the plight of fellow female inmates and her abuse, allegedly at the hands of powerful people.
The explosive details of the letter have since gone viral and many South Africans are now withing in on the allegations she has levelled.
She still remains in prison pending her next court appearance.
