After the unsurprising appointment of Molefi Ntseki as Kaizer Chiefs manager, and the ensuing meltdown from supporters, there is virtually nothing that could possibly satiate the angst amongst supporters more than plenty of new signings, to try bring back success at the Naturena club.
Chiefs have already acquired a slew of new players, but they don’t look to be done recruiting, with rumours indicating that they have agreed a deal in principle to sign a new forward.
There has been speculation that they are frantically seeking to recruit AmaZulu striker Gabadinho Mhango.
Unplayable have this morning confirmed that Chiefs made a hefty offer for the Malawian international, which the KwaZulu-Natal club accepted.
Mhango is said to have negotiated personal terms with Chiefs some time ago, and all that remains is for Mhango to undertake the appropriate medical checks and sign on the dotted line for the Glamour Boys.
Unplayable has also stated that his announcement as the new Chiefs player will not be long.
While many have been surprised by Chiefs’ pursuit of Mhango due to his age and the belief that he has already passed his best year, it appears that Chiefs are not interested in that talk, believing that he can still bang goals at the highest level.
The 30-year-old does not score many goals anymore, as seen by his four goals output last season, but given Ntseki’s high-energy style of play, which requires forward players to press high up the pitch, Mhango’s abilities will undoubtedly be a vital factor.
More information about the term of his contract and his jersey number will almost certainly be disclosed at his unveiling.
It would be interesting to see if he is able to make his debut against Chippa in the team’s first game of the season next weekend.
