Ghana’s Sanitation Minister made headlines as she tendered her resignation on Saturday amid scandalous reports that staff members discovered local and foreign currencies in cash from her residence. The stunning revelation sent shockwaves through the country, leaving citizens questioning the integrity of their public officials.

However, former Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane pointedly suggested that President Cyril Ramaphosa should take notes from Ghana’s minister and consider resigning himself. this comes after Ramaphosa was also found in possession of a substantial amount of cash at his farm in Limpopo, further fueling the public’s outrage.

Did you see this story @CyrilRamaphosa? This minister resigned after foreign currency was found and stolen by her staff. What do you think about it? https://t.co/FASppSbHSg

— Mmusi Maimane (@MmusiMaimane) July 23, 2023

Both incidents have triggered a wave of public discontent, emphasizing the pressing need for transparency and accountability within the government. The events in Ghana and Maimane’s call for action in South Africa serve as a stark reminder that no one is above the law, and citizens demand integrity from their leaders.
