Albany breads are the most popular bread in South Africa owned by Tiger Group. Albany has by far the biggest share of the country’s national bread market, with 12 major bread plants producing the Albany Superior, Olde Cape, D’light, and Everyday ranges. Albany breads now claim to have oxy- bio-degradable bio packaging.
For the past few days Albany bread has been trending this happened after a young girl was captured carrying Albany bread. and this made Albany trend because of how beautiful the picture looked. After seeing these pictures people demanded Albany must make sure they make the little face of Albany. But Albany didn’t make any promises, but what they did was they visited the girl and her family they also promised her they will sponsor her with bread for the whole year every day.
But people feel that’s not enough, they demand that they want to see the girl`s picture on the billboards representing Albany and they say they want to see the girl`s face on the packaging of the bread, and if they don’t do that they will never buy the bread again. And they have done that because there are videos of people rejecting the bread because the packing doesn’t have the girl’s face outside.
A video of a person at the store rejecting Son Albany bread because it doesn’t have the girl’s face was shared on social media causing a stir on social media, below is what was posted on social media:
In the video shared a lady is heard communicating with the shop owner asking him where is the girl, why doesn’t the Albany bread packaging have the girl’s face outside, and saying she will not buy the bread if Albany doesn’t change the packaging.
It seems like she is not the only one, People in the comments section are also saying the same thing Someone even commented saying Am gonna buy Sasko so long, let me know if Lethukukhanya is on the Albany bread yet.
Then another one also commented saying I Love Albany Bread people want bread with a baby girl’s picture, do the right thing but we want to see her contract as well.
Opinion: could this mean Albany can end up losing customers if they fail to do what people want, one thing about people especially those on social media if they want something to be done they will do it.
