Pitso Mosimane is aiming to hurt one of his former teams now that he has been named the new head coach of Al Wahda of the United Arab Emirates.
This is due to rumours that Mosimane is putting together a massive offer for Mamelodi Sundowns starlet Peter Shalulile.
Since switching from Highlands Park to Sundowns, Shalulile has been on fire and has immediately established himself as their go-to scorer. In addition to leading the team to several cup victories during his stay at Chloorkop, his return to goal has helped the Brazilians win three straight DStv Premiership championships.
He joined the team shortly after Mosimane left, who had to oversee the deadly side of the Namibian international while serving as Al Ahly’s opposing coach.
Now, Shalulile’s impressive goal total for Sundowns—75 goals in 118 games—has sparked a lot of interest in his services. It was assumed that the clubs especially in North Africa had been monitoring the player. like Al Ahly and FC Pyramids, two Egyptian powerhouses, where he may be deadly with South African attacker Fagrie Lakay.
However, according to the most recent sources from KickOff.com, Mosimane and the Al Wahda side will now be attempting to persuade Sundowns to part ways with Shalulile, who is their star player.
SHALULILE TO TRAVEL TO MOSIMANE’S AL WAHDA FROM SUNDOWNS?
According to reports, Mosimane told the Al Wadha administration that he wants Shalulile to move to Abu Dhabi, but that will need luring the 29-year-old away from Sundowns.
Al Wadha is currently putting together an offer in an effort to persuade Sundowns to listen and, ideally, accept a transfer. Al Wahda and Sundowns’ club-to-club negotiations will determine whether any deals are made during this transfer window. wrote the article.
However, because Shalulile still has a long-term contract with Sundowns and is their primary striker, it will be challenging to complete the move.
On the other side, Al Wahda might be bringing a sizable offer that the Brazilians might find difficult to refuse.
