It’s getting hot in the kitchen.” Heller, who had expressed similar concerns a day earlier, described the ongoing parliamentary hearing into Mkhwebane’s fitness as “truly terrifying,” emphasizing her worries about Mkhwebane’s safety. Throughout this period, friends and supporters of Mkhwebane have voiced their anxieties regarding her security.
Adding to the mounting unease, Richard Dyantyi, the chairperson of Section 194, revealed that the Parliamentary Ethics Committee had alerted him to an extortion complaint made by Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane. In response, political analyst Dr. Piet Croucamp asserted that the ANC should intervene and remove Dyantyi.
Brandon’s call for enhanced security measures for Mkhwebane coincided with this revelation, as concerns over her safety continue to persist. Bongekile further predicted that the next Public Protector would be rendered ineffective.
