After watching Xolani Khumalo expose a drug dealer on Sizok’thola, the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) officially apprehended the 34-year-old Nigerian male in the Brakpan area. This drug dealer was found to be in possession of illicit substances with an estimated value of twenty thousand South African rand (R20,000).
As part of their ongoing efforts to combat drug syndicates and ensure the safety of the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE), the EMPD has been actively making several drug-related arrests in recent weeks. Acting on reliable information received from a credible source, the DEU officers swiftly acted upon an individual who was reported to be persistently involved in drug distribution within the community, despite a prior arrest in connection with the popular TV program, Sizokuthola on Moja Love. The suspect was located on High Street in Brakpan and promptly searched, revealing fifty-five medium-sized plastic bags and one hundred and twenty ziplock bags containing Kat, a controlled substance commonly abused in the region.
The arrested suspect was promptly escorted to the Brakpan police station, where he is now facing charges of possession and potential dealing of illicit substances. In addition, he may also be charged with contravening Section 49 (1) of the Immigration Act (Act 13 of 2002).
Surprisingly, the EMPD commended its dedicated members for their efforts, but refused to give Xolani Khumalo and his crew the credit they deserve. These guys risk their lives everyday just to expose wicked drug dealers that are destroying the lives of our youth, but it seems like the SAPS is not ready to accept the fact that crime in South Africa has gone beyond their power.
