ANC Secretary-General, Mr Fikile Mbalula is credited by Sunday Times as saying that there is an impression that the ANC would get as low as 30% votes in the upcoming elections, unless something is urgently done about it.
Mr Fikile Mbalula disclosed that the disbanding of the Scorpions was a very bad mistake on the part of the ANC, saying that the Anti-Corruption agency should be brought back. Koko Matshela also shared part of the statement from the write up, “On the @SundayTimesZA today, Fikile Mbalula has the impression that support for @MYANC could be as low as 30%”. Fikile Mbalula believes that bringing back the Scorpions will help fight against massive Corruption, and also help savage the dwindling image of the ANC.
This may also help the ruling party get back the confidence of the voters. The ruling party, the ANC is doing everything possible to rebrand itself ahead of the general election.
Recall that Mr Fikile Mbalula had earlier disclosed that, “South Africa made a monumental error when it disbanded the Scorpions, and the elite crime-fighting unit should be resurrected”. Meanwhile, Mr Mervyn Dirks, an ANC member and a member of parliament representing Pietermaritzburg informed Mr Fikile Mbalula that it was a collective decision of the ANC to disband the Scorpions back then for reasons best known to them.
He added, “The disbanment of the Scorpions was an ANC conference resolution. As disciplined members of the ANC we must defend conference resolutions”. Another person said, “Fikile mbalula is the least innocent person in the ANC… he is part of the people looting in the Eskom and André tried to hint that that’s why this dog tried to destroy his name. I’m 100% sure he will be Guilty”.
