ANC Ace Magashule given 7 days ultimatum to apologize to Cyril Ramaphosa or be expelled

Former Secretary-General of the African National Congress Ace Magashule, has been found guilty of misconduct for his failure to apologize to Cyril Ramaphosa and ANC structures after unilaterally suspending Ramaphosa in 2021. As a result, Magashule has been given a deadline of 7 days to provide reasons why he should not face expulsion from the party.

While the guilty verdict poses a significant setback for Magashule, it is not the end of the road for him. Supporters of the former ANC SG believe that his true purpose lies beyond the realm of politics and that the ANC should wait for his second coming.

Meanwhile according to social media critics, Magashule’s actions have undermined the unity and stability of the ANC. On the other hand, Ramaphosa has indirectly fulfilled his destiny which is to weaken the ANC and pave the way for a co-governance scenario with the Democratic Alliance (DA) in the upcoming year. Magashule’s departure from the ANC should have happened much earlier because the EFF will be happy to have him as an ally.

As the ANC grapples with internal divisions and seeks to redefine its path forward, the actions and consequences surrounding Magashule’s misconduct case will undoubtedly shape the political discourse in the coming weeks and months. Do you think Ace Magashule will swallow his pride and apologize to President Cyril Ramaphosa so as to retain his ANC party membership?
