Former ATM senior member, Mzwanele Manyi, who has just joined the EFF has spoken out about the party’s stance on the open border policy. According to Manyi, the Open Borders policy of the EFF is poorly understood and mischievously distorted out-there. Manyi was not for the open borders policy before he joined EFF, he has quickly been brainwashed. Before he joined EFF, Manyi publicly spoke against foreigners being in the ountry but now he is singing Julius Malema’s tune. Is he sucking up to Malema?

People on Twitter reacted to what Manyi said: “You think it’s so poorly understood that none of EFF people have the guts to confront or rebuke the visible terrible things done by illegal foreign nationals. If EFF respects the so called constitution shouldn’t they atleast acknowledge that anyone that is in SA without papers regardless where they are from, they are illegal foreigners, illegal migrants”, a Twitter user responded. Manyi has touched a very difficult topic to turnaround what Malema has been saying around foreigners! What did the CIC mean when he said “foreigners must device means of how to get into the country”? And of course he meant by “hooks or crooks”!
In my opinion, it’s not matter of being misunderstood but more of it being unrequired at this point in our young and deteriorating democracy. There’s far more pressing issues. EFF open border policy should be last thing on the agenda. EFF has no timing that is the real issue here! If EFF can abolish this policy they can win the Presidency (election), but as long as they think that we misunderstand, they must forget.
