Mbeki Hits Out That The State Has Lost Control Under Current Administration

Former president, Thabo Mbeki has finally spoke out about the state of affairs in South Africa under the current administration. He was speaking in response to allegations made by US ambassador.

Mbeki has always been critical of the Ramaphosa administration, and feels that ANC continues to shield him from being held accountable especially over his Phala Phala scandal. He also said the allegations made US that the country supplied Russia with weapons, shows that the wheels have come off.

Former president Thabo Mbeki said the state has lost control. This comes following the electricity crisis which stands as a threat to the economy. Many businesses have been hard hit, and the ones that are still in existence, are just hanging by a thread.

Critics said they do concur with Thabo Mbeki’s utterances. They believe that the centre is no longer holding, and things are falling apart. What citizens keep on hearing from president Cyril Ramaphosa are promises.

It is not only Thabo Mbeki who is not happy with Ramaphosa’s administration, several comrades have been calling for him to be removed from power. They said he does not deserve a second term.

“Ramaphosa does not deserve a second term. He must be the first ANC president to lose elections, he must be voted out to save South Africa from economic annihilation,” said a social critic.

“Perfect example would be energy crisis, how do you intend to sustain the jobs and grow the economy when we have reached the peak of power outages?

Highest unemployment rate, inequality, the poor getting poorer, even an error on our bank notes. It is getting worse,” others said.

Comrades within the ANC said former president Thabo Mbeki may write another letter addressed to deputy president, Paul Mashatile soon. It is obvious that the former ANC leader is not going to rest until issues of accountability are prioritised.

Ramaphosa who was addressing ANC supporters in Kwa-Zulu Natal on Saturday, said when he first appointed the minister of electricity, there were doubts. He however said now he sees that he made a good decision.
