The telenovela known as Umkhokha: The Curse is no longer going to include the actor Langalakhe Zwane. In the second season, Langalakhe took over the character of Maphalala, which was played by Mbuso Khoza in the first season.

Mbuso allegedly did not participate in the production of the second season because he had a contentious relationship with Duma Ndlovu, who was the executive producer of the show. Their disagreement centered on the fact that songs written by Mbuso were included in Umkhokha: The Curse without his authorization. Although Mbuso was eventually cut from production.

Umkhokhoa: The Curse continued to feature his musical compositions throughout its run. According to the source, Duma made the decision to get even with Mbuso by replacing him with Langalakhe. According to a second source, the conflict between Duma and Mbuso may have gone unnoticed.

“After repeatedly verbal fighting, Duma caved in and they straightened out their differences, Mbuso was invited back to the show, and Langalakhe was fired,” said the source. It has been confirmed by Langalakhe that he will no longer be appearing on the show.

“Yes, I’m sorry to inform you, but I can confirm that my employment at Umkhokha: The Curse has been terminated. I am no longer participating in the show in any capacity. I was informed that the person who is entitled to this position has returned, and as a result, I had to make room for him. I asked the producers to at least give me another role, even if it’s a small role, but I didn’t get a response.”

“When I went in for the audition for this part, I had no notion that it was only a temporary position, and I was never informed of this fact. I didn’t find out that it was merely a temporary position until I was told I was being let go. This indicates that I will be returning to my hometown and looking for work there. Because of the competitive nature of the market, I don’t have a problem with this at all.

“There is no bad blood between the executive producer Duma and myself,” said Langalahle. Due to the fact that I was producing my own shows at the time, I was not a part of the first episodes. However, my music has consistently been incorporated into the production,” he explained.

The Daily Sun attempted to acquire Duma’s comment, but he did not answer his phone or respond to their text messages.
