Zuma Is In Swaziland For Annual Prayer Session, He Also Meets King Mswati III

Former president Jacob Zuma is in Swaziland for an annual prayer session. He met King Mswati III whom he had a chat with concerning the political killings in the country.

The Swaziland king is being accused of using state organs to silence his opponents who are not happy with how the affairs of the country are being conducted. Former president Jacob Zuma has politely cautioned King Mswati III to halt the tit for tat political killings in Swaziland.

The ANC veteran advised the king to engage in peace talks with progressives demanding political reforms. Zuma told the king that it would be difficult to engage in peace talks at a later stage with hardened people who have lost their loved ones. He used the South African example where some victims of apartheid were not willing to engage in talks.

Zuma is a respected leader, and critics said it is a good thing to see senior leaders speaking sense to those in positions of power. They said Zuma spoke a lot sense, and the Swaziland king must not ignore this advice.

“That is a good message. Mswati needs to be told that what he is doing to the people of Swaziland is not good for the South African region itself,” some said.
