Kaizer Chiefs beat Angolan side Petro de Luanda in their CAF Champions League Group C clash at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 6 March.
Amakhosi took the lead in the 30th minute through Eric Mathoho to give them a 1-0 half-time lead.
After the break Kaizer Chiefs doubled their advantage thanks to Happy Mashiane’s 79th minute goal.
And that’s the way the score stayed until the final whistle.
The three points kept Gavin Hunt’s men in with a chance to progress from the group stage. They now have four points after three matches.
Wydad Athletic (six points after two matches) and Horoya (four points after two matches) lie first and second, respectively, in the group.
They will play each other later on Saturday with Amakhosi no doubt hoping for a Wydad victory.
Petro de Luanda are out of the race for a quarter-final place having lost all three of their matches to date.
