THREE men sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries after the bakkie in which they were travelling, rolled following a collision.
The accident occurred at about 8.30am today (Friday) along Angler’s Rod near the entrance to Meerensee.
Three vehicles were involved, but all who were injured had been travelling in the one vehicle.
According to witnesses, the bakkie that rolled had attempted to overtake a vehicle, but had clipped it before rolling.
The three occupants of the bakkie were thrown from the vehicle, one landing on the grass median between the two carriageways, while the other two landed on the pavement on the opposite carriageway, near the bakkie, which came to a halt on its side.
A number of emergency services attended the scene, including City of uMhlathuze Fire and Rescue, and the injured men were all transported to hospital for treatment.
They had sustained serious-to-critical injuries, including head trauma, broken and fractured legs and hips, but the injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
The police will investigate the cause of the accident.
