Ukhozi FM has been forced to shut down their Durban studios after one of its presenters tested positive for CONVID-19. It is believed that a presenter who worked on weekdays and on weekends tested positive for the virus and today after work he informed his employers about his results.
According to inside sources workers were told to vacate and broadcasting is currently taking place in a van.
Speaking to Daily Sun the SABC spokesperson said “The SABC can confirm a case of corona virus at KwaZulu-Natal Provincial office. The affected employee has been working on site since the lockdown and is now under quarantine whilst being closely monitored. ”
As a precautionary measure and to ascertain the extent of the risk of exposure of other employees, the office will be temporarily closed. The office will be dicontaminated from Wedsday until Thursday.
The office will open on 01 June with normal operations. Employees who have been in contact with the affected employee are advised to test for the virus.
